OUTDOOR INSPIRATION

It's nearly September, can you believe it? The weather has been kinda funny here in AZ. Under 100 degrees today and over the weekend. It's a teaser for Fall. I can hardly wait until cooler weather! I am most looking forward to spending more time outside on our patio.

 

I've had these 2 images in my outdoor inspiration files for some time now. I feel it's a Swedish spin on a modern outdoor space. Maybe it's the alseda stool that makes me love the patio so much. I have one of these and I LOVE it. I really just like the clean lines and simplicity in the design. I find both spaces to be comfortable and effortless. {I'm big on both} I myself like clean and. simple. Less is more kinda philosophy.

Not too many plans this weekend, just hoping to get some things done around the house. Maybe antique store browsing???!!!....I don't know we'll see! Going to the farmers market tomorrow morning....hopefully they will have fresh dill so I can make my cold cucumber soup. {It's delicious...recipe next week}

Happy SUNSHINE Weekend

It is going to be sunny and beautiful all weekend long. I am planning meals outside on my patio to soak it up. I have many errands to run, and I want to finish reading Dear John. I read half the book in one sitting the other night, so I am close!

*Chelsea Handler was hilarious as always last night! She did seem to have had a few drinks before hand, lol. Josh Wolf opened for her and really got everyone laughing.

Outdoor Spaces {In the Garden}

I just love a good garden, ecspecially this one featured in issue 1 of Lonny Magazine. The weather is starting to warm up and I am ready to get planting in my garden. We currently have onion, lettuce, cauliflower and various peppers growning. I have already harvested some of my lettuce and it's delicious. I would like to add tomato's, more basil (I grow this year round because I just LOVE it), and some bulbs.

I am taking some time off work in two weeks. Mainly to stay home and be able to get my office, back patio and some other small house projects completed. I cannot wait to get started. Until then, I am in planning mode. Our back patio is a pretty good size, with saltillo tile and a 3 foot planter that goes all the way around. We have 2 orange trees, a lemon tree, as well as our vegtable garden. The small border could use some plants, but we also have to keep open space for the doggies.

I want to have a table on our back patio so we can enjoy meals outside. We have one now, but it currently houses quite a few pots of cactus that my guy keeps cloning. I would like to do away with this and bring the table under the covered patio where the 2 wicker chairs and wicker bench are. My plan is to pull a fast one on him change it up on him while he's at work, that way he will appreciate the end result and not really pay attention to me changing what he thinks is a "good place for his cactus." The table is literally dead center in the open patio space, "soaking up the full sun." Lol. Did I mention we have a hammock? Well we do, and it is the best place to relax.

Ok, I admit it...kinda a garden nerd.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday. Was a wonderful long weekend, that ended too soon. Ended on a bad note for me, as I learned a friend has passed.

You were taken too soon. Love and miss you. I will always remember the fun times we had together. xoxo

Outdoor Spaces: {Rooftop Getaway}

What stunning views from this rooftop via Skona Hem. I love the neutral elements amidst the greenery on this deck. There is nothing like a beautiful and cozy outdoor space and I can't beleive how little I have explored them on my blog. That will be changing now. With my green thumb and love of the outdoors it is just plain silly I have been slacking. So here we have the first series of Outdoor Spaces on Mi Vida Bonita!
