School Project

For class we were to design a dental office, given a current floor plan we were to completely change the plan to our own design. (With specific stipulations of course!) These are my color boards for the lobby and lighting of the Dental office. I really wanted the overall space to have a soothing, relaxing atmosphere....almost like a spa.
These are sketchup perspectives of the lobby. This was my first time playing with sketchup. It's a great program to show the concept of the space. This space took me probably 9 hours to do. The more you use the program the faster it is, just takes some getting use to. Images are copyright- Mi Vida Bonita--if you borrow please site. Thank you! =)
p.s. - I got an A on this project...YaY

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

This BREAD is ooohh so TASTY!!
I made this for Thanksgiving, I brought it to my mom's, bf's parents and the last loaf I served at my Christmas party...not a slice left!! So easy to bake, and fills the house with such a yummy scent. This recipe is from allrecipes.com (my fav recipe site). There are various substitutions that can be made to the ingredients. I took one cook's advice and substituted 2 cups brown sugar (yum) & 1 cup white, instead of 3 cups white sugar.
Just click the title and it will send you directly to the page.
INGREDIENTS

1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
4 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup water
1 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 7x3 inch loaf pans.

In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water and sugar until well blended. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. Pour into the prepared pans.

Bake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Bargain of the Week

Who doesn't love a BARGAIN??!!!

While shopping around for an elf outfit for my Holiday Party (Yes I threw a Holiday Party & holiday-esque attire was required, so I fulfilled my need to dress up like an Elf, a workshop elf at that) OK, so BARGAINS Yes please. I found this unique Baroque Mirror @ drum roll please.....Goodwill- yep for only $14.99. I could hardly believe it, I picked it up right away. The mirrored section is about 15"x10" with antiqued gold finish. I was informing my BF about the Baroque style of the mirror--and he thought I was saying "broke" and said, "it's not broken is it?" How Cute, right.

Well Ladies, what a STEAL. I absolutely Love it. This picture does it NO justice--taken with my Motorola Q--because my digi is in the shop getting fixed.
